She won't let me pick her up Bella had a rabies shot yesterday (I know she is young, just over 3 months) but the vet gave it to her and CT requires it at 3 months to get her license and go to puppy class. Last night she was sore and wouldn't walk much. This morning she is eating, walking (not running) even starting to play but she will NOT let me pick her up. Even if I am so ever gentle and stay away from touching her anywhere near her back legs where shot was given, she still freaks out when I pick her up. Has anyone else expierenced this before? She had her shot at 5pm yesterday. Will she go back to the little one that likes to be held and runs around? |
Dont worry , she'll be ok in a few days . She must be hurting from the vaccins. |
Jack was the same way, and it really worried me, it was about 24 hours before he was back to normal. |
yeah its probably just the vaccine taking a toll on your precious baby, my roxie is due for her rabies at the 1st of may, but im so scared to give it to her because of the reactions they have, ive heard its best to give them the rabies at 6 months. roxie starts puppy class on tuesday but i dont think its required, just as long as shes up-to-date on her vaccines. good luck with your baby! |
Thanks everyone, Bella is back to normal but that rabies shot really was a tough one. hate that here in CT they require it so early - 3 months, at least she doesn't have to get that again for 1 yr. After about 24 hrs she was back to herself!! |
she's BACK! i'm glad she's back to normal! Porter got his rabies shot at 5 1/2 months. he was running and jumping right after.....u woulda never known he just had a shot. lol. do u guys keep the rabies tag on the collar? i put it on there w/ the other chain that has his name and address....BUT it makes such a loud noise when he walks and plays. also, i'm REALLY bad w/ Porter wearing his collar. He only wears it if we go out. |
