False Pregnancy SO, I took my female in to the vet to have her third (and final) ultrasound last night. No puppies.:( I am so disappointed! Unfourtunantly its a false pregnancy. I did some research before we even thought about breeding her, and learned some about the subject, but would like to know as much as possible. This saddens me because I know how emotionally trying a false can be on a dog. Poor baby she just knows she's pregnant and there's nothing in there! I almost cried when the vet told me, I couldn't imagine having to go through the pain myself. If anyone has any advice to lend it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. |
how many times did she mate and on what days???? |
My little one did the same things not long ago she is 5lbs and the male was 3lbs. Like you I took her to the vet and no puppies my other one had puppies in her, I did wait till I got down the road to cry for her. The vet told me that since it was her first time and him being 8 months that his sprem count was not high enough they got tied two times on the days she was ready. I sorry for you I know what it feels like, Bless your heart |

My Bell had a false pregnancy once, and it was hard for her. I bought her a small stuffed dog that barked and she had it with her a lot in the beginning. Not sure if it helped but she was fine after a bout with laying around and being very lazy! Good Luck |
I'm so sorry, I can imagine how very sad this must be. Was she physically changing ect. I have read about this, but wouldn't make it any easier knowing, could happen to many of us:( |
Yes, she is going through the changes. She appears as if she was around a month along. She has gained a considerable amount of weight, developing mammary glands, emotional, the whole nine yards. It is just so sad to me! Shane (my fiance, her Daddy) was equally excited about the arrivals, he had started work on a "deluxe" welpping box for the big day, I even made her some doggy maternity shirts. I know I am a dork with way too much free time. But we were so happy! I feel like we've lost our own babies! Its nuts. I am just going to have the vet help out next time I suppose. I have heard it is a lot more common than the general public hears about, the vet said it is not all too un-common. |

Can you tell me if anyone that has a dog gone through false pregnancy has had tenderness and pain when carried? My baby is so sore she doesn't want to be carried. Breaks my heart. She is on antibiotics to prevent infection and has milk also. Please let me know if pain and tenderness is part of the false pregnancy symptoms? Thank you, Concerned Mom |
