Oatmeal as food? I know that many dogs are allergic to grains and that corn and wheat are products that we don't want in their food. What about oatmeal?? Sissy still won't eat any dry foog (I've tried about 6 different brands), so she gets lots of what I'm eating. The last week, I've been making oatmeal for breakfast (the old fashioned kind) and she loves it. Is this an okay grain for yorkies to eat?? |
I would imagine that as long as she doesnt have allergy problems from eating it it would be fine |
Oatmeal is one of the easiest things on the stomach. Nutro Ultra Natural makes an oatmeal formula for sensitive stomachs so I think it would be very good for her. |
I would also think that it would be very healthy for her. As long as she's not showing any signs of allergy to it. |

When I got Piper from the breeder, she fed her baby oatmeal with a little honey in it. The breeder said she was a very picky eater. Hah! She had giardia, which causes anorexia. Once my Vet got her on the right medication her appetite picked up, She went from 1.6 lbs to 3 lbs in 3 weeks. Piper still likes baby oatmeal for breakfast. |
my friend's dog who is normally scared of getting a bath LOVED the oatmeal bath i gave her. I made some oatmeal, and then added a lot of water. Then i rubbed it all over her and let it sit for like 5-10 minutes. when it came time to hose her off (that's what she hates) she didn't even notice the hose because she was too busy eating the oatmeal that was falling off her LOL |
