Too Much Water? Jack will be two this October. The vet says he doesn't have diabetes but he drinks water like he's never going to have it again! He'll drink until he spits up. I try to give it to him in little doses (1/4 of a cup or so at a time) but he always begs for more. I'm worried if he continues to spit up he'll do damamge to his throat. Any advise? |
Wow...great advice everyone..:) |
I think that if the vet says it's alright then it shouldn't be a problem. My yorkie drinks TONS of water, but never so much that he spits up. The only thing I can think of to tell you to do is just ask your vet  Sorry I'm not much help! If you do end up asking the vet, I would be interested in what he has to say. :) |
if hes on dry food he will drink a lot mine do but when they have canned they dont.:) |

Maybe you could get another opinion from another vet. It sounds to me as if something is not right. I never heard of it though so I can't give you any usable advice. I did a search on google: dog water comsumption and came up with the following: http://www.amcpets.com/ingest3.html We hope you'll find out what's wrong and that is only a minor thing! :aimeeyork |

I think i'm going to get a second opinion. Something just doesn't feel right and I rather be safe than sorry. Jack doesn't get diarea from all the water he drinks although he does pee a lot. |
Kobe drinks a lot of water. He also pees alot. He has a liver problem but not diabetes. He eats soft 2x a day and has dry food out 24/7. |
Frankie is a 5 month old female Yorkie and drinks LOTS of water and pees a ton! I think it's pretty normal given how much she runs around and how often she is chewing on toys. |
