Mircochipping??? Hi I Want To Get My To Pups Microchipped, Little Girl Is Almost 4 At 5.1lbs And Remmie Is 4 Lbs At 18 Weeks, I Have Seen Where People Have Had The Yorkie Babies Microchipped At Young Puppies But I Was Told That It Is Painful For The Pup And The Needle Is Really Big, Is This True? The Vet Said They Would Traqulize (spelling?)my Puppies But I Am Very Scared Because It Is Risky...has Anyone Got Any Info, Or Experience???? It Is Greatly Appreciated!!!!! |
I had tink microchipped at her 12wk appointment. She need shots to so the vet just gave her a shot of some numming stuff. He then gave her her shots and microchipped her and she didnt even feel a thing. Tink only weighed a pound when it was done and she is fine. |
The needle is a little big, the microchip is about the size of a grain of rice. You can always wait, for the younger Yorkies for when they get fixed to have the microchip put in. I have seen quite a few dogs have it put in, it didn't appear to be too painfulll, but its different with every dog, some cry when they get their shots and some don't even notice. |
Okay Thanks I Will Have To Ask About The Numbing Stuff Too!!! |
Yes the needle is big - I had my little guy done while he was getting fixed so he could not feel it. They are a bit sore in that spot for a while so just be easy with them the first few days. Good luck and it is so worth it. My parents found a Great Pyranese the other day and took it to thier vet and had her scanned and found the owners - it was a sweet reunion. :) |
All my puppies are microchipped at 8 weeks old and I never heard a sound from them when it is done . |
Thank You!! Yt Is The Best!! I Love Having Ppl To Go To And Ask Questions |
I just had Cali and Maya done 2 weeks ago. Cali is 1 and weighs 4.8 lbs and Maya is 9 and weighs 13 lbs. The vet took them one at a time in the back and did it. They both did not seem bothered by it. It only took a few minutes and th evet said that was because of the paperwork. |
My vet just recommended that Kali have it done when she is spayed because she said the needle is really big. The way she howled when she received her shot I will defiently wait until spaying. |
I wasnt going to do this. i'm so paranoid about everything when it comes to Daisy. But for the past week i've been having nothing but problems with her getting out of the yard, so i've called my vet and i'm going tomorrow it's $49. she was fine with all of her other shots she had to get so i guess it's not a big deal of doing while she's awake. She was spayed already at 6 months so that's out of the question doing it while she's asleep. |
Hi! I recently had Lilly microchipped at the Humane Society for half the cost of the vet's! Lilly weighs 2.5lbs and she did great. Yes the needle is really big, but it was done within 5 minutes. She also didn't have any reaction, thank god! Good luck ~Lizette :) |
