Overnight Tech.? Since Tucker is spending the next 2 nights in the hospital I was wondering what you all's opinion was on this. Do you think that there will be a technician there overnight? I didn't get the chance to ask the vet, and now I'm worried. He is in ICU for the next 48 hours and I don't want something to go wrong and there not be anyone there. It is a veterinary specialist hospital with a critical care unit, and emergency facility. |
My Vet told me that the Emergency clincs here have someone who stays overnight and montors the dogs |
The er clinic's have 24 hour vet and tech's on staff. When Cali was going t be spayed at the regular vet's they wanted to keep her overnight even though no one is there all night. I told them I would sign a release but that I wanted her home with me since I could watch her and take her to the er vet 5 minutes away. She ended up having emergency surgery at the ER clinic where I had decided to have her spayed because of her liver biopsy and the surgeon did it at night since she was working the night shift. I called at 1 am and 5 am and talked to a vet and when she was going to come home the next night a 1/2 hour before I was going to pick her up a vet called and said she had thrown up and he wanted to watch her overnight. So they have a full staff 24 hours in the er intensive care. They usually get excellent care there so he is in good hands. Let us know how he progresses. |
thanks for the reassurance, he had too high of a blood pressure when we left so i think it's making me a little extra paranoid lol. |
Yeah, I think you're safe to assume there will be someone with him. ICU is intensive care, afterall. I know what you mean about being paranoid. I always forget to ask questions like that! |
i know it's so hard not to worry, but he is in the best place to get the care he needs. I was so impressed with how wonderful the whole staff was at the ER clinic. You can call and check on him whenever you want. I was worried about Cali being away from me and I said something to the vet and she said that the vet techs walk around holding the little ones if they get scared and she said Cali was getting plenty of attention. So I'm sure Tucker is getting a lot of attention. |
