Growths, benign and malignant. I just got home from the vet with my four year old Spike. He went in for his regular rabies/distemper shots and for a teeth cleaning but also to have the vet look at a small lump on his shoulder blade. It looks more like a wart than anything else, but we lost out last little girl to a malignant mole on her foot- though she wasn't nearly as hearty, or nearly as well bred, as Spike is. Needless to say, it broke my heart when I had to leave him there for the biopsy, even if he had a treat and a sweet vet who was showering him with attention and affection to the point that he forgot about the crazy lady that brought him in. My question is this: are yorkies prone, like miniature schnauzers, to warts and moles? Is this just a freak thing? I've been trying to read up on it, but there seems to be little breed-specific info on the subject. I'm worried and I want my little guy home with me, damn it. |
Sorry i don't know the answer to your question but I wanted to wish you and your little man the best. |
Oh I hope it's nothing. Did the vet have any ideas? I will pray for good news. |
I don't think yorkies are prone to moles and warts at all. There are definitely some breeds that but I don't think yorkies are one of them. I hope your biopsy results come out ok. |
