Gracie appears to have ringworm on her head! Gracie has developed something on top of her head that seems to be ringworm! I noticed yesterday and today there is more of it. It's not red, it's brown and it doesn't appear anything crusty or raised? I've looked at pictures of ringworm on the internet and it in some small ways resembles it but at the same time, it doesn't, so what would you think? I bought some anti-fungal cream and put it on her head, and if it doesn't look any better in the next day or so, I'll call the vet. They say it's very contagious, but none of the other dogs have it, and none of us have it. Does anybody else have any experience with this? |
Have you been putting her hair in a topknot? Maybe it's irritated from being in a clip or rubberband. I know when I wear my own hair in a ponytail too much, and the ponytail is too tight, my head starts hurting. |
I hope your vet finds nothing serious on Gracie!! Keep us posted and Schatzie sends Gracie puppy hugs! |
I haven't personally had an experience with it but a friend of mine did. She has a doberman and cat that both got it and I believe it wasn't just in one spot they got a few spots all over. I can't remember if she herself got any or not. I don't think it was too bad I do remember that she went and got the antifungal cream for the animals (her vet told her to). She says her cat is tiny and I don't think it affected her too much so if it is ringworm I think your pup will be ok. Maybe this will ease your mind a little bit if it is ringworm. |
