Hi New Yorkie Mommy Here!! Hi, I just got my baby today but was wondering if it is normal for a 4 month old yorkie to have really frizzy hair.I went to pick her up and was kind of worried about her coat. It is really thin and hard to manage. I will post some pics soon. Oh one more ? She is going to be 4 months on the 27th of this month and weighs 2 lbs 8 oz. does anybody have an estimate as how much she will mature at? |
I think the formula for estimating the weight is something like double the weight at 4 months and add a pound. Anybody remember what it is? Is her hair frizzy or does it stick out from loose hair at the base. Are you able to brush any loose hair out and get it to lay better.? |
No loose hair at base just really thin and it makes it hard to manage. Will her hair get thicker with age? |
Triple the weight at age 8 weeks. And you double the weight at 12 weeks. Your puppy probably weighed much less at 12 weeks so right now it's hard to estimate. My Yorkie is 5 months old and weighs 2 lbs even. She will probably get to 4.5 - 5 lbs.? When I estimated my pup's weight he was a little 12 1/2 weeks and he weighed 1.5 - 1.8 lbs at that time. If you could find out what your pup weighed at 12 weeks that would help a bit more. Genie |
I've just replied to your other post - the breeder was evidentally questionable - I know you've been to the vet so I presume there are no skin mites etc? With your loving care, I'm sure this little pup will improve in all respects and that includes the coat. As a matteer of interest as this breeder was evidentally not bothered about the pups, how come she kept them so long? Was Adina the only remaining pup of the litter or where the others there too? I'm sure she will be fine NOW!! Ana xx |
