Teeth-probably not a typical question For the last couple of days I notice Mayzie clicking something in her mouth (assumed it was a tooth) and she kinda does this open mouth thing (can't really explain it). I have checked in her mouth several times and have felt all around and couldn't find anything. But tonight I had my son hold a flashlight and much to her chagrin, I got her mouth opened to take a good look. Sure enough it is a tooth. I am not sure if Yorkies lose ALL the teeth in their mouths when puppies or not. But anyway, what it looks like to me is a mature tooth is coming in right underneath the baby tooth and it looks like the baby tooth is a "cap" on the second tooth--if that makes sense. It is one of the bigger ones in the back. I am sorry for taking so long to get to my question. Do you (anyone) think it will fall out on it's own? Hmmmm, I am not sure what to do. She is 5 months old. Her breath has been a little foul on and off the last day or so. I brushed her teeth this morning. Does anyone think that is something the Vet can/will pop off without putting her under? I just don't know what to do. The clicking drives me nuts. It sounds like she is grinding her teeth. Thanks for you all for your input. |
Give her some chew toys! See if you can get her to get it out on her own. If it is clicking, it's possible it's loose enough to go soon. Don't be surprised if you never see it again. I think Wosie swallowed all the back teeth. Some nice stiff chew things should help. I like the cornstarch bones for my girls. Good luck! |

Thanks for the tip! She chews on her nylabones...and everything else she can get a hold of  Hopefully she'll get rid of that tooth soon. |
It should come out all on it's own just like a little kids using teeth. Logan would play with his loose teeth too. Pretty soon they were gone. You can pull it if you want just like you would a childs, it'll come right out. It's up to you. |
Cali is 10 months old and retained all of her baby teeth. Just the other day i was playing with her and one of the top front baby teeth came out. So if there loose they will come out eventually. |
