Throwing up... Does anyone else's Yorkie throw up at random times? Ruby throws up occassionally (but not after drinking like mentioned previously in the threads). It's always clear or yellowish-clear (never any food in it). Should I be worried? She tends to do it more in the middle of the night. |
Yea.....my Muffie Did It And She Is Over A Yr Now And It Has Calmed Down Alot........hardly Ever. |
The foamy yellow stuff is stomach acid. Try feeding her a little something before bedtime so she doesn't have an empty stomach and the food will absorb the acid so she doesn't have to vomit it up. You can also give a 1/2 of a tums. |
Cali was getting that 2-3 times a week. In the last month she has only done it once and she is now 10 months old. Hopefully she is growing out of it. She does get fed 3 times a day. |
Oscar is free fed and does it a lot. He is 18 months old. I noticed he had thrown up in his bed last night and threw up again this afternoon. Same clear yellowish stuff every time. I really don't know what it could be that is causing it. I take him out on a leash everytime so he can't eat grass and crap. It is a mystery to me. |
I know Cali even had stomach biopsies when she was spayed and had her liver biopsies and it didn't show any reason and she gets fed every 8 hours? |
It is mind boggling for sure. I took Oscar a month ago and the vet said he was getting into something in the yard he should not...so we use the leash and he eats nothing from the yard. He did have some apple last night and maybe that did it, but that was the only thing out of the ordinary that he had. But he does this even when he has nothing new added to his diet. I guess we might just have to chalk it up to being a "yorkie thang"! I guess as long as it is just once in a while and they are thriving and not losing weight, we should not worry. Poor little Oscar is just mortified when he throws up tho...it is so pitiful...he is like "momma!!! What's happening?" |
The past 3 weeks Rosi been doing that too, she is outside alot with me on retractable leash, she has been eating grass then later throwing up later, i dont think she is eating grass because of an upset tummy, i think it is the other way around, she is eating grass then it upsets her tummy, she has been wormed just to be shure 3 weeks ago but that didn help, yesterday i kept her indoors more and she didn throw up. Got vet app. today and have her checked just in case.. the only thing changed is that i switched her to adult food and he being outside more... |
Mine has done this twice so far -- this morning most recently. Kind of frothy yellow stuff. He seems fine, but the wretching noise he makes just breaks your heart. Mine is just a puppy and I know puppies throw up sometimes just on principle! |
I free feed all my dogs but I now give them a "before mama goes to bed snack'...... it has helped my boys... for they have done it a few times. But I also think poo eating isn't helping! But MaeMae was in bed with me last night and I can tell she didn't feel that well..... wanted to get off the bed and she never does before. She threw up her dinner and it was a lot of food. Then through the night she threw up the foam 3 times. SHe seems fine today and all normal. I wish they can talk so we know what the symptons are. My poor baby.... |
