Kiroshi Just wont eat  Please, give me some advice. What should i do? Kiroshi just wont eat for long periods of time and then some times he'll eat only if i stand next to his play pen and watch him. I've changed his food from pedigree to science diet and now to Eukanuba. I even mix science diet and Eukanuba together. He just doesn't care for either. I've tried putting cheese on top and still the same thing, he'll try it and then decide he doesn't want it. Kiroshi doesn't display any sickness, he's still very playful as usual. He is 10 mos now and the last time i check he was 3 lbs, I'm afraid his weight might have gone down because he is very skinny. Any suggestions before I take him for a check up at the vet? |
Try him on some cooked chicken and rice,or a little cooked liver. You could try adding some warm water to his kibble to bring out the smell-this worked when my pup wouldn't eat when she was little. She loves Nutro choice-lamb and rice. They make a canned food too you could try and warm it a little.Give some nutrical 3x a day to keep his blood sugar up. Any reason for him not to eat--are his teeth bothering him or ears sore? How are his stools? Runny? If so you would be best to go to the vet asap. Good luck. |
His stool is fine, and i tried the warm water thing he didn't take it. I'll try the cooked chicken thing. How do you have the chicken cooked?, just boiled? |
I usually roast it in the oven--i have single drumsticks i cook for Holly, but boiling would no doubt be ok too. They are fussy eaters--my pup is only 3lbs too at nearly 6 months. I worry about her eating, but she has alot of energy. If he seems normal in every other way, well,he could just be having an off food day. Holly likes vanilla icecream, cottage cheese and steak too-not all together--lol! |
Thanks alot. He seems to be okay, it looks like he'll eat alot when its time to go to sleep. |
