Aggie's getting spayed tomorrow!! Ok, I know it's not a major major deal because most of our dogs go through this process. BUT, I still can't help feeling a little anxious and worried. Afterall, she is my very first furby. Are there any things I should watch out for before and after the procedure? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!! A Worried Mom in CA. |
No advice, just wanted to say not to worry, I am sure she will be fine. LOL I know it is hard, I worry about EVERYTHING but try :D |
Try and relax I know it's hard I waited too long because I was so scared and cali went into heat. I had to have ger spayed while in heat because of a possible blockage and she was fine. The surgeon was very kind and called me as soon as she was out of surgery. Aggie will do great! let us know when she's home again! |
I sympathize with you totally. Sissy was just 6 months old and just over 3 lbs when spayed. It was so incredibly hard to leave her with the vet. I was able to see her after she came out of anesthesia and spend some time cuddling her. The vet said she had the tinest ovaries she had ever seen. She needed to spend the night because of her very small size. She came home with restrictions such as no running, jumping or stairs - yeah right since the entire world is larger than she is. As soon as I brought her into the house and set her down she was up the stairs and onto the couch. She also came home with pain meds that were supposed to sedate her. I only used them two days just to make sure there was no pain. Sissy appeared no worse for the wear once she was home. She never stopped her regular activity, though I did try to limit her jumping up/down (didn't work very well). She never appeared to be in pain, didn't yelp or whine at all. She is one tough little girl. Hope your Aggie comes through well also. Keep us posted. |
I just picked her up... from the hospital. She seemed fine, just a little groggy. They pulled 3 remainding baby-teeth out, put them in a little tube for me to keep sake. The insertion on her stomach wasn't as bad as I had expected; it was only 1/2 inch long. They also gave me some pain medicine for the next couple days or weeks, depends on her condition. I'm taking a day off from work tomorrow just to make sure she's okay. |
I'm so glad she's home. You must be so relieved to have that behind you! Give her kisses from Cali! |

I'm very glad everything went okay with Aggie's surgery. Sissy also had teeth pulled (4 of them) when she was spayed. Hopefully, you will find that Aggie is pretty back to normal tomorrow and you can enjoy your day off with her cuddling and playing (gently). Sissy sends her love, too. |
I am so glad that everything went ok! Sounds like she will be back to her normal self in no time! |
