Nuti-cal Hello Everyone, Jaci is 4 mo and when I got him from the breeder she gave me a tube of Nuti-cal to give to him twice a day to keep his blood sugar up. I was just wondering if there is another alternative. She said the tubes were expensive and I am almost finished with mine. Is there something that I can buy at the store that has the same benefits? And is not harmful to him? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you! :) |
You could get Nutristat but the price is gonna be about the same. I have always use nutrical. |

i have two yorkies and all i did was put sugar in there water, never had a problem.... |
Thank you, I will look there but if I run out before I can get to the store is there anything else I can use? My mother is coming to visit and I dont plan on going to the pet store while she is here. |
Nutri-cal I always get mine at Petsamart and it is not expensive @ all, it is only a couple of BUCKS... :animal36 |

I agree... you shouldn't have to supplement a well balanced diet. You could give him a few Honey Nut Cheerios as a snack (to keep his sugar level up)... but he really shouldn't need it. You should keep a tube of Nutri-Cal around the house ... just in case. Best of luck! :) |
If your pup is underweight, you could always use a little honey a couple of times a day or Karo syrup. |

hi when I got my dog rusty the breeder said to rub alittle karo syrup on rustys gumms and that would help keep up his blood sugar. it has helped rusty i hope this information is helpful. |
at what age can u stop giving the nutrical?? Wyatt is 5 months as of today and ive just been giving it to him once every other day and he seems fine to me!! |
providing the weight is a good weight meaning your puppy isnt underweight for his/her frame there is no reason for daily or regular use of nutrical... A 5 month old that is maturing normally and has a balance diet should need it at all. hope this helps |
