Anyone have a Toothless Yorkie? The vet just informed me Otis got 11 adult teeth removed. I feel awful because those teeth are never going to come back. I was wondering if anyone went through what we're going through and what adjustments you made, if any, like toys, treats, etc. Thanks. |
OUCH!!!! Poor Otis!!!!! Well, I guess he'll be on soft foods. Hugs and Kisses for Otis! :( |
Otis Sorry to hear about his teeth situation. I don't have any words of wisdom to offer but I wanted to send him a puppy hug. What caused the removal? :animal-pa |
Poor Otis I am sure as long as his kibbles are smaller he will be just fine. |
My 9 year old pom had 7 or 8 pulled a few months ago and she is fine can eat anything. Chews milk bones. SHe had all but one bottom front removed and some molars. They adjust real quick. |

Do her gums bleed? Is she still on kibble? Interesting. |
Poor Otis! Someone needs to invent dentures for doggies!!! :) Do you think you can crush up his kibble into smaller bits? Or make it powdery? |
my grandfather has a yorkie with no teeth. he just turned 16 years old taoday. he still eats hard kibble and some moist feed. he is still doing good for his age. |

How's Yoda's teeth doing? |
Aww, poor little Otis. I hope that he will be fine and able to eat his kibble. How old is Otis? |
I think Yoda's lost at least 2 adult teeth so far. :( We need to take him to the Yorkie Dentist this month, that\'s for sure! |

awwww poor Otis! I used to house-sit for a Westie who had lost a lot of teeth and we would put some gravy or broth on her kibble to soften it up and of course she loved it. |
Edie just had her top 4 front teeth removed. They were loose, and so we went to the vet for a cleaning, and the vet ended up taking them out because they were so loose. I was always pretty good about dental hygiene, but they got loose anyway. They were NOT rotten however. I asked the vet what I may have done wrong, and he said "Absolutely nothing"--it would have happened no matter what you did. Apparently it is par for the course for many small breeds. Edie is 5 and a half years old. Those tiny top teeth were not used for much--Edie chews with her back teeth. The vet said she would not miss them at all, and he was right. Fortunately, the teeth never showed. You can often see her lower front teeth, but not the top ones. So she is still gorgeous. :D I have the teeth. They are white and shiney. |
