bumps in ears Hello all, This is my first time on the site so please bear with me. I have a 5 year old Yorkie and he was boarded for the first time 2 weeks ago. I hated to do it but I had to. I got his back and a few days later noticed that he had a few wierd bumps in his ears. They are along the edges of his ear on the inside. They are a bit red, with no itching yet. I pressed on them and it does not seem to bother him. However they are bothering me. The bumps are not scabs, just bumps. He is the only child and has never had problems before like this. He is spoiled rotten and very well taken care of. I know he did not have these before I dropped him off. I am just not sure what to do about them. Has anyone else had this problem? There seems to be no discharge or smell. The bumps are about the size of a pea and the left ear seems to be a little worse than the right ear. Help!!!!! |
I have never had that problem but I think I would call where you borded him and ask them some questions. I would also take him to the vet to see what is going on if no one on here has any ideas. There are allot of really experience people on here I think that might help you out. Good Luck and keep us posted on this. |

I am taking him back to where I boarded him tomorrow. They are also going to re groom him, since they did such a horrible job the first time. They are already telling me that this has never happened there before and unless I can prove he got it while being boarded they are not liable. Needless to say I am not happy. I will keep you posted as to what I find out. Thanks for replying and caring enough to do so. I greatly appreciate the interest and concern, as does my little man. AtlantaYorkie |
Sounds pretty suspicious to me. Hmmm. . . with how much you've noticed and been bothered by those bumps; you would have for sure noticed them if he had them before he was boarded. Good luck, and keep us posted on what those bumps are, and how thing work out with people that boarded him. |

It could be a reaction to the cleaner they use. I use to work at a Pet care kennel for a summer job and they used watered down bleach to clean everything and kill any diseases or anything that a dog could bring in. A few dogs with sensitive skin would react to the bleach and get a rash. I would ask what they clean the kennels with. I hope he gets better soon. |
