Eukanuba Puppy Food I have a question, if my puppy is doing great with eating, stools, etc.. should I switch brands?? Sebastian LOVES his food and it doesn't seem like he has any problems digesting it. He eats Eukanuba and it seems like everyone says this is a bad brand. Please give me your opinions. |
Mojo was eating eukanuba...but he also ate royal canin, nutro and is now eating canidea...i have to say his coat looked best with nutro...now canidea i have only offered for a week...but so far so good! Check the igredients, that's what made me change...for about 2 or 3 dollars more i bought canidea which i don;'t think is even fair to compare to eukanuba... |
Eukanuba is the only thing my dog will eat. He wouldn't touch Nutro or Royal Canin. |
Chai prefers Eukanuba but she will eat the Royal Canin if it is the only thing offered. Hefner likes the Royal Canin best and rarely eats the Eukanuba. |
Kristy, Since this is the only food your dog will eat do you feel comfortable giving it to him? Sebastian is only 11 1/2 weeks and when I got him the breeder worried about him not eating (this is what she gave him also) but he never had a problem eating or pooping, he usually only poops twice a day, (is that okay?) I am just curious if he is doing so good, should I switch because of the ingredients? Sorry for all the ?? |
PMed you, sebastian'smom |
Max eats Eukanuba, too...the purple bag for small breed puppies. I just ran to the kitchen & checked the ingredients...is it the "chicken by-products" that are bad? I assumed that was like hot dogs, which my kids love. LOL |
Is there a big price difference with these foods? I have my beagle on Eukanuba lite (he is on the heavy side) and he has a great coat! He likes it too. I plan on giving Starsky when I get him Eukanuba too. (for puppy) Should I be doing different? |
Teddy Bear - I think that the important thing is that your puppy is eating. I wanted to feed my pup something more "quality" and tried a couple diffferent things, but he wouldn't eat it. I got worried that he was going to get sick, so I slowly switched back. He would pick around the Nutro and only eat the Eukanuba. |
Sorry... Yes, Nutro is a bit more expensive, but its not significant. I think for the small bag it's 50 cents to a dollar more here. |
It's great that your dog likes his food...but I think dogs will eat what you give them. They won't starve themselves. But, I do know that it's recommended that you rotate foods around so that they get nutrition that they might not get from the same food all the time. |
