Cat Food I have a cat. I have had to move the cat food so my Bella doesn't eat it. She is confined right now to a couple rooms, but am afraid when she gets run of the whole house, she will still eat the cat food. She devours the whole bowl and then doesn't eat her own food. I know cat food is bad for her, but any suggestions on what to do when she finally gets run of the house. She is 4 months old. Thanks. |
Have the same problem, two cats and a hungery puppy, thinking of finding a way to elevate the cat dishs where they can get at it but Winston can't. |
Our cats' food bowls are on top of the dryer. That's the only way they'd ever get something to eat and eat in peace too. |
Same here, my cat dines on the dryer, doesn't even phase him to eat while it's running. |
I have the opposite problem my cats eat the dog food  |

I put the cat dishes on top of a small microwave stand. |
I put the cat dish under a kitchen chair, I have an English Bulldog so his head is too big to fit through the legs. I guess in May when I get my yorkie baby I will need to find a new place for it! |
Cat food is not bad for your dog. The vet at the Purina Animal Food Company set me straight on this many years ago. He did say, however, that cats should not eat dog food. He said that the only problem with dogs eating cat food is that it is higher in protein and is richer than most dog food (no wonder they prefer it) - and can cause a dog to become overweigh - and, told me to keep an eye on my dog's weight. I had two cats and my one dog for more than ten years that lived on Meow Mix (and other foods and treats, of course). Only when my dog reached about 8 years of age and was a little heavier than she should have been, did I cut back on her cat food. So - don't worry, if your dogs steals some of the cat's food. It won't hurt her/him at all. I never gave my dog canned cat food. It also won't hurt them, but I just don't like dealing with canned cat food - even for my cat! Carol Jean |
