Any reason to be concerned? I have two 12 week old puppies...that I have had for two weeks. I weighed them when I got home...and then they went to the vet on Friday. They haven't gained a single ounce. I was shocked...they are such pigs! Right now they eat about 3/4 cup of Wellness (each) and because we are potty training they are eating about 20 cherios a day too. Is this normal that they haven't gained weight? My vet didn't seemed concerned and said they looked very healthy. I just want to make sure they are getting what they should. Thanks! |

She did not care for the food I was giving her, I had tried Eukanuba, Iams and Nutro, so I had to switch to a cheap brand, and I supplement with cottage cheese once a day. I might start adding scrambled eggs too. I wonder if they just aren't buring it all up playing. |
When their so small scales can vary. I had Cali weighed at the vet and she was 1 lb 4 ounces then she was weighed by them and when I took her back a weel later ans she was 1. 1ounce asked the vet why and she said the scale is not as accurate in ounces at that small size. So then they started weighing her on the postal scale which was more accurate at that size. |
I have a postal scale at home and they weighed the same as they did at the vets. My babies aren't that small though. Lilly weighs 2.6 and Tucker is 3.9. I guess I just don't want anything to be wrong with them. But, when I put the food down it is gone within about 5-10 minutes. I currently feed them three times a day. I agree they are probably burning it all of by playing with one another :D |
