Amount of Exercise 1 Attachment(s) Hi Everyone, Just wondering how much exercise your furbaby gets. Our Punkin is 10.5 months and weighs 8 pounds. Most days we walk her at a moderate pace (for us) for about 20 - 30 minutes. We also try and have a good round of fetch a few times a day. We are worried we are exercising her too little or too much. Thanks in advance for your response. Alexis (and Punkin) P.S. This is a pic of Punkin waiting for her walk a few weeks ago. |
Punkin sure is a cutie! :D |
We try to get ours (one 7 lb, one 8 lb) to run around and get out of breath at least once every day. Sometimes we take them for a walk around the block, sometimes they just run around the house and play together, and sometimes we chase them around the house and play with them to get them a little exercise. I'd say we try and get 15 minutes or so of good running around or walking in each day. We've got one who stays nice and thin, and one who is a little fattie. :dogwalk: |
My baby loves her walks. She is nearly 5 months and about 4lbs.She loves to go to the park, especially where she can off lead by the river. She loves to meet other dogs and we walk for about 3/4hr at her pace. We do this 3-4 times a week and shorter walks in between. She love to play fetch and chases the cat around madly.Needless to say she is lithe and trim!I take my cue from her-if she has a sleepy day,I leave her be. :animal36 :)  |
I've had my 20-month old on about the same schedule as you describe (20-30 minutes every day, plus other play time), and he's healthy as a horse and 8.8 pounds. I have no doubt he could exercise longer safely. Punkin is adorable, btw, and looks healthy to me! |
