Breeders: Weight gain question Hi I am the one who wrote in having a 12 oz new yorkie. Breeder told me she was 1pd. Anyway, my question is how much weight gain should I expect per week for a dog this small. I am asking because she eats every two hours or so what seems like a fair amount. However she has not yet even gained an ounce, shes close though. I have had her for one week tomorrow. |
weight gain print off this weight chart, gives average weight gain by age. http://home.comcast.net/~kkingpdx/puppygrowthchart.html hope it helps |
Thanks!! Thats the first yorkie growth chart I have seen. It looks like an ounce a week is the weight gain amount to expect.(thats what I was wondering) Anyway thats where she is at. I just didn't know what to expect. She is so small and I am not a breeder to know. |
Maybe I'm just too blonde?? But I can't figure out how to use that chart. My puppy is 10 weeks is 2 lbs 4 oz. Help! And thanks! |
16 oz = 1 lb your baby is 36 oz should be around 5lbs adult weight. hope this helps |
That helps! I didn't scroll down enough to see the bottom of the chart. :D |
Feminvstr- Again, thank you so much for this chart. I use it all the time. You always put such informative info up. I learn so much from your posts. |
Why can I not figure this one out?? I don't get this chart...I feel like a dumb-dumb. My puppy is 11 weeks and weighs 2lbs 2 oz. I cannot figure out how much he'll weigh as an adult...help! I'm going to try to figure it out again... |
My guess is a 2 pound 2oz pup at 11 weeks will be in the 5 pound range at 18 months. Nothing is ever for sure of course as they all grow differently. |
34 oz (2.2 pounds) at 11 weeks shows 5 pounds grown. |
I'm an idiot as well. Can someone help me. Beau weighed 3 lbs, 2 oz at 16 weeks? |
YorkieLover there are 16oz in a lb so 48+2 is 50 50 oz would estimate her adult weight at 5 give or take. Hope this helps |
Thank you Feminvstr |
Thanks for your help guys!!! My hubby came home and I showed it to him...he laughed at me, now I understand how to read the chart! LOL, so okay..it takes me a while sometime but better late than never! :bravo: |
Okay I don't feel as bad because I'm not the only one that can't seem to figure this all out! I've tried and tried and I just can't understand it! Can someone please please help me! My Chico went to the vet today and weights 2.8 pounds at 12 weeks. Chico was 2.1 pounds at 9 weeks so he gained 7 ounces in three weeks! Is this normal weight gain? |
It looks like hes gaining fine to me. According to the chart he will be in the 51/2 lb mark. (estimate only) |
Wow according to this chart, Mocha is way off.. Shes already at 4.5 lbs at 16 weeks.. I am assuming she;ll be about 8 lbs fully grown.. Maybe 9 |
awesome chart..... that was super helpful, my pup tiny is 14 weeks old and 2lbs 7oz... so he should be 4 1/2 lbs full grown.... thanks a bunch for the chart, it was exactly wht i was lookin' for. anyone know what age he amounts to in human years? |
Isn't it 7 years of dog life for every 1 year of human life???? |
I am soo glad someone told me how to fiqure out this chart. I felt like a dumb dumb too. Now I am glad I have it! Thanks, Tucker's Mom |
I kind of hope this chart is a little wrong. My Toby is 11 weeks and he weighs 1lb even. The chart says he will only be 2 1/2 lbs. is that healthy for an adult dog. Then again He is so cute how he is now if he stays that tiny I wont mind as long as he is healthy? |
