The Best Food for your dog. What do you think? link Check out this website. I still dont know who to believe more! http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/hea...eterriers.html a lot inf interesting info. Genie |
Interesting, but sometimes I have a hard time believing someone that is trying to sell you something. At least they aren't trying to sell you a specific brand of food or anything. Seems to be an interesting ebook, but there's plenty of free Yorkie health guides out there. There's pros and cons to each argument, but if you have time, making some food for your Yorkie really isn't that time consuming. We've been giving Yoda a full chicken drumstick at dinner time. All we do is put the drumstick in boiling water for 10-15 minutes, and cook it like that (nothing added). Take the chicken out, let it cool, take off the skin, and cut into tiny pieces and mix into his Royal Canin dry food. He really likes chicken! :) |
A few months back I got interest in this theory ... bought books ... studied ... started cooking "healthy" for my picky eater! Next visit to Dr. Lucy for a checkup and Miss Prissy Paws was almost 1/2 lb. overweight!! Got a "chewing out" by Dr. Lucy and was told to get her back on her dog food and be "tough"!!! So, we did because we trust our vet and her judgement completely! The next month when we took the "porky yorkie" in for a checkup after a month of being "tough" and sticking to our guns, Miss Paws tipped the scales at 4 lb.!!! We had been so proud of ourselves ... been so tough ... Dr. Lucy weighed her 3 times ... thought something must be wrong with her scale?!!! :) While nobody was looking, our baby had a little growth spurt! She wasn't overweight this time! We did a great job switching her back to her healthy dog food ... fruit ... veggies ... and other little "treats" that are good for her! We're trusting Dr. Lucy and sticking with the dog food!! :D The reason? I don't think she would ever make a disclaimer like the one below from the website ... and I DO hold her liable for my Toto's health!! ;) This web site is intended to be a source of information for educational purposes. It is offered only as a tool to help you make responsible choices. I cannot diagnose nor prescribe for your pet, and I will not be liable for any use of this information. |
Here is a site that explains a lot about dog food, and they are not selling anything at all. There has been a lot of discussion about the foods and what was used in them in the past couple of years on different groups on the internet. What you feed your dog, is in the end, your choice. http://api4animals.org/79.htm |

Porky yorkie...Cracks me up! Miss Prissy paws! I love it! You feed her fruits and veggies? The woman we got our lil monkey from said to keep her on a strict diet and never feed her wet food so we jsut give her dry kibble and vitakraft yogurt treats. I'd love to give her fruits and veggies tho. She likes apples. Little sneak stole my apple core one day! LOL :p ?????? |
sammy is now on the honest kitchen and raw for 6 moths and he is great and loving the food. |
