WATER: Filtered or not? I am wondering what kind of water everyone gives their dogs. This may seem silly because most people probably use tap water, but I read somewhere that unfiltered tap water can kill a hamster over a short period of time. Does anyone know anything about this? Since some of our puppies are not much bigger than hamsters, lol, I was just wondering. I did feed pedialyte when they were real young and I even bought that "special" water that tastes like beef, I forget what it's called. Now I give them filtered water when I am in the kitchen, but sometimes they may get unfiltered water when we are out. |
My dogs and I both drink Dasani water. I buy so much of it, they get it too :) |
Luigi & I drink Aquafina!!!! But his ice cubes are from the fridge which has a filtration system in it, but I honestly don't know how well it filters everything out!!! Are they spoiled or what???? :D :D :animal-sm Mandy & Luigi :animal-sm |

Would you drink the tap water from where you are from? If not, they don't give it to your dog. Where I live the water is pretty good but too much lime deposit in it. So, my dog drink tap water but I run it through a water filter first. |
Yup! We give our animals filtered water as well, from the tap.... |

Spring Mineral Water They get what I drink - Spring Mineral Water. A Breeder in California told me that he gives his Distilled Water to eliminate the Tear Stains, he said it was caused by the minerals in the water. I don't know how true this is? I have never heard it before and all 8 of my Yorkie books make no mention of this subject. Could it be that at the time of printing (some time ago?) That water filtration sytems were'nt as bad for you as they are today in this day and age? :confused: |
My Babies drink what I drink! Aquafina all the way.. i think tap water is too harsh for these small tummies! plus you don't know whats lurking in tap water these days! |
i have 4 cats and 2 dogs drinking out of the same bowl i use tap water i have one of the water thing that you fill up and its suppose to last days well mine i have to fill up sometimes a couple times a day if i gave mine bottled (idont even drink bottled water)i would be paying more then i paided for them a month :eek: so no bottled water here |
MIne get bottled water (font vella).We live on a small island and our tap water is very salty so its not even an option:) |

I boil Fred's water and leave it in the fridge for it to get cold and then I give it to him. I don't trust tap water. I'm slowly just opening bottles of Ozarka for him though because it's so much faster and I bet it tastes better for him too! :animal-sm |
I have super-sensative taste buds, tap water always tastes like dirt to me (don't know why) and since I've had weight loss surgery, it's gotten even worse and I actually get sick off of certain types of water -isn't that weird? Anyway, we usually buy about 6 cases of Dasani at a time and it's easy to just grab a bottle for me and one for the girls :) My kids love it to. Obviously, I'm a big Dasani fan! LOL |
Yeah i give daisy sparkletts water, we order in gallons for us and the family so I give her from our sparkletts water cooler, and she loves it. I would never drink from tap water i've tasted it and it's horrible, wouldn't give it to her either. |
