Puppy shots! I am looking for a vet for my puppy, but I want them to be resonable too. When your puppy is due for his distemper and rabies shot, do vets generally give them at 2 separate times or is it okay to give them together when the pups are so small. I called two separate vets, and one said they would give them at 2 separate times a week apart and not charge me an office visit for the 2nd one and the other vet said they can do 2 separate times also if needed and will charge me 2 office visits. There shots are a few dollars cheaper, put the office visit is like 43.00 a time! What should I do? What should I look for in a vet?? How much does neutering generally cost?? Leigh    |
the puppy shot takes care of the distemper which is administered 3 times. first shot is given at about 8 weeks next 11 and finally 14 weeks, when you bought him how many shots did he have and how old is he now? each puppy shot has Parvovirus, adenovirus, parainfluenza, distemper 3. all in one NOTHING MORE! If you have a petco in your area most have weekend clinics that cost about $25.00 for the puppy shot I believe the same for the rabies. another thought, call your breeder ask her if she is willing to do the puppy shots for you at a minor charge. The rabies shouldnt be given before 6 months and you must get it from either from the clinic or a vet to receive the certificate or proof. never let anyone give two shots at the same time too hard on the little guys system. |

After the initial visit and exam, my vet did not charge me for a "visit" for vaccines because the technician actually gives the shot and the doctor doesn't see the dog. There is not office visit fee if you have it done at the pet store shot clinic. |
