shbe'll only eat at night..... When we first got her in January, we were told to feed her 1/4 can of wet with 20-25 pellets of dry 3-4 xs a day. well the vet said stop the wet ( we all know which brand) and just give dry if she takes it fine- which she does so i was feeding her 3 xs a day and no longer give teh nutracal- btu SHE WONT EAT ANYMORE! i feed her in the AM when we get up and it sits there ALL DAY! when i come home from wok at lunch time, the food is still there and i hav to play agame with the food to get her to eat even a FEW pellets. at night, she gobbles it all up and looks for more even...which i give just a few pellets before bed to hold her over. is this ok, that she really only will eat around 7-8ish at night?? and i am giving her about 1/2 cup of purina puppy chow each time. she is now 5 months old |
I am not big on Purina Puppy Chow as the first ingredient is corn and it also has chicken by-product in it. With your pup being so young I think she should be eating 2 or 3 times a day. There are tons of threads on YT regarding dog food/puppy food along with information on the net. I am not sure if you are willing to change food or not but Nutro & Natural Balance are two good ones if you have a Petsmart/Petco store in your area. Many members go with Innova, Wellness, Candia along with a few others. purina puppy chow(new formula) ground yellow corn, chicken by-product meal, corn gluten meal, brewers rice, soybean meal, beef tallow preserved with mixed-tocopherols(source of vitamin e),pearled barley, animal digest, dicalcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, salt, egg product, potassium chloride,l-lysine monohydrochloride, choline chloride,dl-methionine,zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate ,vitamin supplements(e,a,b-12,d-3),maganese sulfate, niacin, brewers dried yeast, calcium pantothenate, garlic oil, pyridoxine hydrochloride, copper sulfate, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin supplement, calcium iodate, menadione sodium bisulfite complex(source of vitamin k activity),folic acid, biotin, sodium selinite. |
