Dandruff My puppy seems to have a lot of dandruff does anyone know why and how to get rid of it? |
Dandruff After trying shampoos, oils, etc. I found Solid Gold sea meal. You can get it at solidgoldhealth.com.Some speciality pet stores carry it. It completely took care of the problem. He has been on it for a year now. 8.oz. bottle lasts me almost a year. I do have to give it to him in a small bite of ham ,but he eats it right up. Good luck! |
We use Royal treatment honey oatmeal shampoo and leave in coonditioning spray. It has done wonders for roxis dandruff. |
what i have heard is it could be dry skin so try oatmeal shampoo/cond... also when they get nervous they turn white (like dandruff) i know it happened to mine the 1st day of her training class... |
Dandruff Our puppy Lex has some as well. I asked the vet what he thinks was causing it. He said these guys are very sensitive and his first thought goes to internal. He said that stress can cause it. Second he goes to look at food..some foods have corn in it and it can cause the dandruff. Third and last he said it could be not washing off the shampoo well enough. So keep them happy, eating good food and overall...rinse and rinse...lol. Good luck. I got some oatmeal shampoo to try to treat it externally. :aimeeyork |
When I bought Georgie home he had terrible dandruff. That week I took him to the vet and they gave me oatmeal shampoo for dry skin and fish oil to add to his food. Now he is just fine it really only took a week or so for his coat to look nicer and the dandruff went away. :animal-pa |
Dharma used to have lots of dandruff when we brought her home; now that she is 4 1/2 months it is almost gone. My vet said that during wintertime is very common for new puppies. Newborn puppies need to be in a very warm place, so most breeder including mine keeps their home very warm. On top of that she used an external heater to keep them warm enough during nighttime. A friend of mind recommended me Day-to-Day Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner by Chris Christensen. The product started to work the first time we applied to Dharma. You also need to brush her hair every day to get rid off all the dandruff that is already loose from the skin. The products smell wonderful and the best is that the smell stays with them all the time until the next bath. I hope that helps! Good luck.... Dharmaxxx[ :aimeeyork |
Dandruff I figure he is suffering from dry skin like his new mamma...lol. Yeah the winter really does a number on things. |
