question kinda weird I'm looking at a puppy to purchase she has a white stripe on her nose. What does it mean that her nose is not all black? She was born the first of November and weighed 3.2 lbs yesterday, how big do you thin she will be. thank you so much, I love reading all the advice on here, you guys do a wonderful public service to people with or wanting yorkies. Your info is very helpful!!! have a great day! julie |
thought i would add a pic of the little girl 1 Attachment(s) hopefully i did the pic right? new to this. |
OH she's beautiful, I don't know what it could mean though sorry just wanted to say how precious she is |
My brother has a dalmation who has a white bit on his nose which means that bit has no pigment. |
anne anne, is that a bad thing? no pigment? |
My best guess is that she will get to be at least 5 pounds maybe even 6 pounds. My mom's malteses (both papered purebreds) don't have the really black nose like they are suppose to. It's not a desired characteristic in Yorkies to not have a completely black nose, but I don't think there is any hidden health concerns. If she is like my mom's maltese it will probably become even more apparent with age. |
size... i have a new yorkie puppy too but what i have been told is they double thier 3m weight.... |
I think teh white stripe is where she was kissed by an angel!!It just makes her more special! She is so cute. |

To put it simply no pigment means no colour like grey hair If you want to show or breed this is a fault thou as my brother found out. Luckily he didnt mind thou as Koby is a family pet. |
Your baby is sweet with that pink freckle on her nose. I love Patti's explanation. There are a lot of differences in Yorkies' coloring and it usually has no effect on their health; only the decision to show or breed would be effected.. |
