Neutering Question
 
I have a 9 month old puppy. I haven't gotten him neutered yet. I read that after he is neutered he will be less playful. Have any of you who have gotten your puppies neutered noticed a decrease in playfullness? My little baby is so playful that I don't want him to loose this after his is neutered.

Rocky got neutered 2 weeks ago, and he still as playful as was before.

I have never heard they are less playful only that they are not as interested in the girls and can settle down some...

Ted was neutered at exactly 6 months. He is just as playful
as he ever was and he is now 14 months old. If I am game
he is too!

My guys have always seemed to be just as playful as before the surgery given a few days to recoup...

chowie just got snipped and after one day...he is ready to play.

it's a myth that dogs will have less energy and less active after being neuter. i had bunjee neutered when he was a little over 4 months old. he's always been a rather calm puppy, before and after neutering but when it's time to play, he PLAYS!!! if he's any more active, i'm gonna need to clone myself to keep up.

I am glad to hear that dogs still are playful after being neutered. I hope the same is true for my little baby when I get him neutered.

Glad to hear it. It seems like most of the dogs who have been neutered are still playful, that is good news.

lucky was neutered at 4 months and he came home playing....
the only thing i noticed is that he still does not lift only squats so that was great...........he was neutered at the humane society because it was a third of the cost of what my vet wanted. I was worried at first because it was so cheap but its the humane society so they were great with him no need to worry at all........ ;) hope everything works out

I had asked the same question last week.. I got my boy oreo neutered less than a week ago.. and the day he came home.. he wanted to play and jump!!

I am glad to hear that so many yorkies stay active after being neutered. I was also wondering, do they continue to pee all over the place? i have that problem now with my little guy. He is paper trained but for some reason now he doesn't pee on the paper but he goes on my rugs :mad:
