Kneecaps Does any of your furbabies having problem with theirs kneecaps? And how do you thake care of with, do you cut down execices? I just consult an orthopedist for N'Stein and he says my furbaby is having problems with his kneecaps. He was talking about discolation of his left kneecap and the right one is less severe. As long as N'Stein is not suffering the vet recommeds to do nothing, no operation. And with time if he suffered then he will get medication. |
If it is luxating patellas,It is very common in a lot of toy breeds. My suggestion would be to do what you've been doing and keep your vet updated, and DO NOT let him jump up and down one things such as couches, chairs, beds and stairs. :thumbdown |
I agree if it is LP but I would also advice you to start putting $$$ away as down the road you might need surgery for N'Stein. There is a ton of information on luxating patellas on YT and also just about any Yorkie website. |
I saw a surgery for luxating patella being performed on Animal Planet. The good news is, I think vets are getting pretty good at fixing this condition. Like Cindy says, though, it will cost some $$. |
