Innova and Evo We'll be bringing our new puppy's home in a few weeks and wish to feed them the best food available ,so my question is....Is this brand all it claims to be? Will of course ask our breeder what she's feeding them and start with that so as not to upset there diet at the outset. Just asking for opinions here. |
I feed Royal Canine. Mine love it, but make sure if you switch the food do it slowly over like a 2 week period. |
I feed my Tiger Innova puppy food and he also had the health bar. I am happy as the ingredients are all natural and organic. It all depends on what you want and what you think is good for your puppy. |

I feed mine with Innova for puppies with a little bit of Evo. Her health has never been better. I used to have her on Royal Canin but that has so much corn in it that it caused her to itch (dogs are allergic to corn). I have had 3 vets tell me innova is the best brand with the best ingredients by far from any other brand. |
Yorkie Guy, I can give a testimonial to Innova Evo. I had my crew on Wellness Fish and Sweetpotato because it is supposed to be good for coat condition. My Chattie has (rather had) a very dry brittle coat. After almost a year on the Wellness F&S I did not see any improvement so I switched over to the Innova EVO. It has been 15 months now and Chattie's coat is in recovery, it is growing in soft and shiny and silky. Peppy and Chizzie already had healthy coats and theirs are just getting prettier and shinier. |
My pet store in town is selling Innova put the pieces look too big for my lil one they don't make puppy small bites anyone have any experience?? Thank you. |
I, too, have a puppy coming home... most likely tomorrow. I've gotten books on dog food ingredients in lamen's terms, milled through the net endlessly, and have now begun checking at local pet stores. Some say by-products are BAD, but others say it's quality ingredients. It's the same with just about all the important ingredients. Let me know if you find small bites. Definitely want my lil boy on human-grade ingredients, with the most health benefits. Glad to see I'm not the only one having problems sifting through all the options out there. I got lost somewhere between Premium and Super Premium... and now some are claiming "ultimate" or "platinum" or something. |
Judyonlypooh...Innova makes a small bite adult food and the pieces are fairly small. The EVO bites are also very small. I swear by EVO...Jolene had a poor coat when I got her and I changed her to EVO (because I like that the ingredients are human food grade with no by products) and you wouldn't believe the difference. First, it is coming in darker, which the vet said could be from a vitamin deficiency or hormone imbalance??? and it is so soft and silky. She doesn't itch anymore and has not had one loose stool. She has a history of BAD colitis and diarrhea and now poops only once a day. Her vet now recommends it over his prescription stuff for dogs and cats with IBD, sensitive tummies and colitis. So, to me, it is worth every penny I spend on it. But that is just my opinion. :) |
Carolina Yorkie...the adult Innova won't work cause she is only 14 weeks right ? The Evo I wonder if my store here sells that, where do you get it ??? Thank you |
Well between what I've read at Innova's site and here sounds as Evo is going to be the first choice for our future furbaby's,As for the size ,If its to large even in the puppy meal....I'm a feller....I gotta a big wooden hammer that'll size'er down. LOL |
the Innova EVO bites are much smaller than the regular Innova.. I have my dogs on Innova EVO for a little over a year now and i wouldn't switch it. SO i too recommend Innova. :) |
judyonlypooh...I missed the 14 week part. Yep, you're right, the small bite won't work yet, but the EVO which is about the size if not smaller will work as it is an all life stage food. I buy the EVO from a local pet store that gets it in and is sold out before the weekend is up. I let them know when I am getting low and they save me a bag. There are also some online sites that sell it, or if you go to naturapet.com, that's the company and they have a store locator on it. You can also call their customer service number and they will put you in contact with the local distributor if there is not a store nearby. I have gone great lengths to get her food.... |
I love Innova! Count me into the Innova Lovers group! Wosie is on the puppy kibble, and both girls also get the Innova Evo wet (less than a tsp) mixed in. Dreama, 4 yrs, is on Solid Gold Wee Bits. It is the smallest kibble I have ever seen!! |
Is innova Evo dry or wet ? My store here showed me Innova for puppy but the pieces looked too big or would they be ok. I am confused ....Right now I giving her Nutro Max canned with Science Diet puppy for small breeds mixed in. I just started the dry mixed in since my vet had her on canned since she was sick at first. Since I am mixing the Science Diet she goes potte SOOOO much I wonder if its the Science Diet. I just started mixing, I want to go to Innova after reading here. |
