:thumbs up Thanks!!! |
Just be aware they will probably rider out (exclude) and pre existing illnesses. VPI did with Cali for hypoglycemia and congenital problems like Liver shunt. I just had 1500 in expenses for both in the same week. I submitted claims but hav enot heard back. I will post when and if I get anything back. |

Did VPI not cover those because Cali had pre-existing illnesses or they just don't cover those illnesses at all. I guess my question is will I avoid that problem if I buy the insurance before I take her too the vet? I am getting my little girl on March 4th...so I have time to get that done before she comes home if it is worth it. Thanks!! |
They didn't cover the hypoglycemia because seh was treated for it before I got the policy in effect. The Liver Shunt is congenital so I'm sure they won't cover that either. I hope to get a couple hundred dollars back out of 1500 because 1 of her 4 visits in the same week was for vomiting and diahrrea. I would definately advise to get the policy effective the day you bring her home. I was just waiting for her birthdate to finish her application and the day or so after I got her I had to take her to the er vet at night for hypoglycemia. It's kind of ironic I worked in health insurance for 33 years you think I would have been smarter! |
