Please Help!! Hi everyone, I need some serious help. My baby is scratching so much its unbearable to even me, I can imagine what hes going through. He does it alllllll night long and all day long too. I changed his diet, even bought an expensive spray from the vet and nothing is helping. Does anyone have any home remedies or suggestions? PLEASE help me.. he is practically eating himself!! :( :( :( |
He may need to be treated at the vets. He could have allergies or mites. You could get some oatmeal shampoo and get something with some Omega Fatty acids init. I use Missing Link you can get it at Petsmartt. |

What are you feeding your little one? What brand shampoo are you using? What are you cleaning your floors with? Are you feeding your little one amino-acid? Like Missing Link? And I agree with Chachi that maybe it is time for a visit to the vet for a skin scrapping? |
I would take him to the vet because it could be allergies or even something more serious. Not trying to scare you at all... |
is he getting a lot of corn in his diet? ive heard that will make them itch. good luck. |
My grandmother's yorkie and my parent's yorkie both got into something in the yard that they were allergic to. They were scratching so much that they scratched all their hair out and they were bleeding and it formed scabs. I know that is gross, but that is an extreme case. The vet told my mom and grandmother to get some Head and Shoulders shampoo for sensitive scalps and bathe the doggies with it. The vet also told them to use the Head and Shoulders stuff that you squirt on and leave-it...it wasn't conditioner...it was more like a scalp-soothing solution. The vet also told them to put vegetable or fish oil on their food...they would make their skin oilier and their coats silky. Since they have been doing these three things, our little yorkies, Lucy Lou and KoKo, have not had anymore skin problems. By the way, I should mention that before going to the vet, they tried the Oatmeal shampoo, which didn't work. The yorkies also jsut eat Pro Plan dry dog food...nothing out of the ordinary. They are just allergic to something in the grass and their skin has to be treated with a little TLC. Hopefully your little guy will get to feeling better soon! |
This is just for your information - but Yorkies can get skin mites ...have you had him tested ? It's awful to watch them itch and we can't help him.... I believe they may have to do a skin scraping for this test but it's so worth looking into if you aren't finding relief yet....a friend's yorkie had them... and her poor foot was in really bad shape... but lucky they finally disanosed it as skin mites and she's getting better all the time.....They usually don't look or test for them right away so you may want to ask your vet about this. Poor baby - I hope you can find out what's going on.... |

if there is corn in there diets that might be doing it read the labels on all food and treats might want to call the vet like previously stated good luck |

IMHO I would take your dog to the vet ASAP. if it concerns you to the point of asking an opinion from others, a vets opinion would probably be the first place to start, not mine. Better to err on the side of caution . :thumbup: S/W |
