blood in his.... Smudger has blood in his pooh, what can this be from, he has had all his injections, he is his normal self, but he has done 2 poohs today and they both have blood in them?? My dad said it might be soemthing he has eaten like a bone that has cut his bum ???  , but we dn't give him bones, he only has a nyla bone and his toys and the only treats he gets are choc drops or biscuits. He has chewed the corner or one of our wooden dining chairs while we have been at work (just a tiny tiny bit) I found a little piece of wood in his food bowl   could this be it?????? and it's cut his bum on the way out, although I had a look at his bum and theres no visible damage Please help :( :( |
I would put him on a bland diet and have a stool sample done at the vet tomorrow. It could be something he ate. If he;s fine tomorrow that would be my guess. |

wood could have caused a small ruptured trying to pass constipation can cause a rupture coccidia can cause blood in the stool best bet take a sample into the vet to be safe |
Has he had a recent deworming? Especially from hookworms? Not all wormers cover this. I had this simple problem once and scared me to death, I took my dog into the emergency vet, a few hundred dollars later, I found from my primary vet she just needed a broad spectrum wormer. |
thanks for the replies, he has done another poop today same story, I phoned the vet dead on 9am and he's going at 10am (40 minutes) hope he's ok Oh just thought I would mention he is full of life this morning and is trying to chew everything, the phone, my mobile, the hairbrush, mp3 player, etc etc he's never usually like this so I think he is teething, he is as we speak chews his nyla bone like a mad dog. Could bad teething bring blood in the pooh or am I well off???? :) |
