Nutro Wet Food (Can) I got Stewie some of this yesterday from PETsMART. I haven't given it to him yet, but the ingredients seem ok. I am only going to give it to him on special occasion. I give Nelly the Nutro Ultra dry food all day but once a day usually noon time I mix one tea spoon of the Nutro Ultra can in with it, she loves it and sometimes she will lick the wet off the dry and leave the dry for later that day. I am not sure how much you are suppose to give but Nelly is fussy when it comes to the dry so I did not want her to think she was going to get alot of the can or have it all the time so I just give her enough for a treat. |
I give both of mine a little bit of canned Nutro each night. My oldest (Japanese Chin / Poodle mix) has allergies and so I have to grind up his Benadryl pill each night and mix it in with the wet food to get him to eat it. Because of this, I of course have to give Lilly (Biewer Yorkie) some as well. Even though they have dry food in their bowl all day, come 5-6 o'clock, they let me know it is time for the good stuff....especially Lilly. If I take too long getting it together she starts to let out a couple of impatient wines like "for as long as you have been doing this, you'd think you would be quicker at it....what is the hold up!?!??!" :p This week I got some of those pill pockets for Gizmo's medicine and he scrafs that thing right down without noticing that there is even a pill in there. So, while I could really do away with the wet food now, I just don't think they would ever forgive me! :D |
I use both the wet and the dry Nutro. Rocky will only eat the dry food when mixed with the wet. |
Purina Puppy food Is purina puppy food ok for a yorkie about a year old? |
Kristy, I'm not a huge fan of wet food for main feedings but every now and again I think it's ok. I feed Chewy some Natural Balance wet food on the weekends as a treat and he loves it!!! It's a huge treat for them...Stewie will go nuts! |
I give Baili the Ultra dry during the day but at dinner time she gets 1/3 of a small can of the wet. Some times I mix it with a bit of dry but most times not. She loves it. I used to feed her pro plan chicken and lamb but they discontinued it in our area and I was told this was a better option. I have noticed this week she has been throwing up the dry food. I was thinking about switching to the Innova but now after reading the post about it today I am not sure.  |

I think I am going to do a similar thing w/ Stewie. I don't want to feed him wet food freqeuently, but I feel badly that he has no variety in his diet. |
I give the fur kids the Nutro wet at their evening meal. They LOVE it and know when it's 5:00 PM dinner time. :D I give them about a Tbsp each maybe a little less over their dry. Not much at all really. |

Purina anything is horrible.(just my opinion please do not be offended.) It has A LOT of fillers and by-products (feet, heads, intestines.) When a dog turns into an adult their nutritional needs change. Less protein, calorie intake is different, etc etc. I would look into changing foods possibly and changing over into adult. If you do decide to change foods, make sure you have some of the old to gradually make the change. Best of Luck. |
Only gave Rocky & Daisy Nutro Puppy wet food when they were between 12-16 weeks in addition to the Nutro dry puppy food. By 16 weeks they both were on 100% dry Nutro Puppy food. |
Well, I have tried two cans of wet Nutro and so far KimMee doesn't like either one, not the lamb though. I feed her the Nutro Ultra for dry. Seems she only likes Cesar's wet food!!!!!! I have resorted to spinach- if I put fresh spinach on top of her dry she will eat it- so I guess for now it is spinach. She won't eat her dry food w/o something else. |
