My dog is going to starve I have tried totally everything. He hates all dog food. Has anyone else had this trouble? My husband has even crunched each of them and says they are bland and disgusting. I do not have $50. a bag to try anymore. PLEASE send Me names. |
I can't recommend a food, food is not a one brand fits all. Just want to say, A dog will never starve itself. Have you taken your pup to the vet for this issue, there could be an underlying issue rather than a picky eater. Also, these lil mites have us well trained, could be refusing food because you keep changing it. Stick to one brand, when he gets hungry enough, he will eat. But I would still take him to the vet for a full checkup. |
Dogs won’t starve themselves unless something is wrong. Most yorkies like Royal Canin for yorkies. |

My baby girl has prescription food from the vet due to gastrointestinal issues, around $35-$40/bag. I'm not sure of quality store-bought brands. Maybe your vet could make recommendations as they would have an idea of what your pup would tolerate the best/what would be best for them. I get freeze-dried chicken either from the vet or chewy.com and sprinkle it in her food, and that makes her have more interest in it when she's not wanting to eat. Sometimes sprinkling a few plain cheerios can pique her interest, too. Sometimes adding water to her dry food makes her think she's getting something special, as well, and helps with her water intake. Good luck!!! |
Sprinkling Parmesan cheese over the food also works in piquing food interest. |
Did you try mixing it with some rice and chicken broth? And by chicken broth, boiling a boneless, skinless chicken thigh (no salt) and using that broth with some white rice, and shred the chicken and put it in the food? My little one used to love that. |
