Bladder Issues How can you tell if a female Yorkie has a bladder infection (or related)? Lucy is 9 yrs old and recently has been licking around this area every time she comes in from peeing. It always seems moist down there but I can't tell if it's from "leakage" (a possible sign of bladder infection) or from her licking down there. She has no other obvious signs (no blood in urine, doesn't appear in pain when she goes...normal intervals of telling me she wants to go out...drinks a good amount of water, eats her Dr. Marty's freeze dried 2x daily, bowel mvmt normal.... So the question is, why all the licking recently? Just started this week and I can't find a Vet that'll see me within 3 weeks!!! On fixed income, will spend as needed when required, but there's too many Vets around here (Cleveland, OH) whose priorities are the bottom line...not pet's health or people's budgets (at least, according to Yelp Reviews). Anyone have any ideas what prompted this behavior all of a sudden? :aimeeyork |
I know you say you're on a fixed income but, seeking a vet is the wisest thing to do. Sorry, this is the best advise I can give you. |
Vet costs are not cheap. The care our pups get has really advanced and with that comes higher cost. My advice is to get pet insurance. I have it and it gives me peace of mind. I have it for all of my pups. I found Pets Best to be the best coverage for the lowest montlhy premium. I have a $500 deductible/year and after that I get reimbursed at 90% . I have not had any issues with this company. And, I agree with Matese....you need to find a way to get your pup to the vet. |
