Just in case anyone is interested, I suggest going to the following link and in the search area, put in: raw food balance There are many questions there about this subject of balancing raw food. If you click on the answers you can read what the vet nutritionists recommend: https://www.petdiets.com/Ask-the-Nutritionist I know people want to believe what they read on the internet but one must ALWAYS look at the source of information.....and the people's qualifications. In the case of the site above, there is a link to view the resumes of the people who are running that site. You don't always see that on the dog food pages on the internet...just a whole lot of we are this and we are that. If they don't have the educational background, I give them not one ounce of my time and I sure as heck won't feed any of my pups what an unqualified person swears is good. There are far too many self proclaimed experts in animal nutrition on the internet. |
Does anyone know what specific heart issues were caused by the grain free diets. I tried a Google search and came up with nothing but pages and pages of links for food ads. I must have Googled wrong. My baby died with an enlarged heart at 15 and was on grain free most of her life. I thought the heart problems only affected larger dogs. |

Haven’t been on here for quite some time but….I have a question. I have a year old yorkie now and she “eats” RC Yorkshire Terrier food but……she doesn’t chew it, I believe she swallows it whole. I’m wondering if she may need larger kibbles. I just don’t know what to get her. Not sure if the regular RC regular adult food would be bigger. I’ve always fed my Yorkies RC with no problems. ( by the way, it’s nice to see one of the “old timers” still on here. Thanks. |

Since I have 5 dogs of all different ages that we free feed, I feed them Canidae All Life Stages dry food. The kibble is still small but they have no issues eating it. |
