Buddy - 6 months old diarrehea (fustrtated) 1 Attachment(s) Buddy has been having diarrhea for a couple months now off and on. I fee him Royal Canin Kibble for Yorkie puppies. 1 egg cooked and cut up in small pieces with no condiments. Occasional very small cook hamburger (tiny amount). He does get high quality premium(Jack& Pup) bully sticks since he is teething. Occasional treats (freeze dried liver) Pupford. He has had all of his shots at the Vet and did have a stool sample checked for parasites/worms, came back okay. He does chew on his docked tail. The diarrhea does have a small amount of blood at times. He is active and healthy. Seems in great health. Does anyone know or have experience as to what can cause this? There are times his stools are normal. But mostly lose or mushy. Very fustrating. Have tried removing some food items and it doesn't matter. What about Royal Canin Yorkie Puppy Food? Any help would be appreciated. |
What has your vet said about it? That’s really the best person to talk to. |
Buddy Vet said it was probably colitis |
My Mike had lots of diarrhea incidents when he was little, until we figured our what to feed him. I'd try changing the kibble and see if that helps. During kibble change, it's good to give probiotics to avoid a further upset. I used FortiFlora probiotic and it helped every time (i gave half packet with food once a day for a 4-5 days at a time). Also, freeze dried liver may be too rich for him. Mike had an episode of colitis once (with blood), when I eliminated the irritating food, it stopped and hadn't happen since. |
