My boy has had one Cytopoint injection. It really helped him. I’ve read so much bad about it on FB groups. He has seasonal allergies and has started the scratching some already. You hate to give them to him but he gets so bad he needs relief. Good to know some have been on it awhile with no problems

I don't know why the Facebook groups do these things. I have seen things that totally tick me off.....I pretty much stay off all of them. Those who bash Cytopoint have NO research data to back anything negative to say about it. Most of them are lay people who think they know how to "research". Crazy that they think reading stuff online and guessing about things is research. I listen to science....and veterinary professionals.

I have used it for a very long time with no problems. It, to me, is a miracle after years of having to give allergic pups meds that really DID have side effects.

I am in like a million dog groups on facebook and have never seen a bad thing about Cytopoint. I honestly don't hate to give it it or even second think it. I much rather give Cytopoint then apoquil or deal with skin infections and a suffering dog. It is an extremely safe medication. I just pick up the vial and a needle from the vet and do it myself at home. I had to do it with Callie for several years and now I am having to do it with Penny and it looks like Ollie might be headed in the direction too. I did take Vet assistant classes and my favorite tech made sure I was comfortable and did the first shot at the vet.

:thumbup::thumbup: I have gotten better at sitting on my hands in facebook groups these days even with some of the crazy claims about allergies and raw food and supplements and stuff that they have no facts or studies to use to back it up and people will actually believe them over vets its crazy. They will let their dog suffer or be put in harms way trying "home remedies" rather then go to the vet and do what the vet says. I only had to give Penny two shots of cytopoint in the spring and fall last year and she was great. She is starting to lick her paws again now so we will probably be getting cytopoint when she goes in for her yearly check up and blood work next week. I don't even second think it because it is so safe and easy. I wish I could get a cytopoint shot for my allergies lol.

The only thing a few days after the Cytopoint my boy got really stinky and greasy. He has never had a yeast infection before. We had to get meds for it. Not sure if it was from the injection or maybe he would have gotten it anyway?

Very common with allergies. That injection had nothing to do with it.

Yep....I avoid because I know better than to waste my time with people like that. It makes me sad for their pups, but can't save them all.
