Yorkie with no appetite Yorkie 3Lbs with Tummy problems. Has no appetite. |
It’s very difficult to comment, based just on your brief post. Obviously, though, a three pound dog doesn’t have much “reserve” so a vet visit is probably in order if the lack of appetite has been ongoing for more than a day or two. If you’re looking for advice from others with similar experiences, can you give more information? Age, normal diet, medical history, history of this particular problem.... |

As Bluebell has pointed out, you haven't posted much history so kinda hard to offer up suggestions. A 3 lb baby has a tiny stomach so they don't eat a lot of food at one time. If he / she is not eating what they normally do a vet check is a must do. |
Being that small you really need to get to the vet. Dehydration sets in very fast with tiny ones. |
I looked through your earlier posts, thinking there might be helpful information there. Is this Sparky we are discussing now? If so, am I correct in reading that he’s about eleven and has some history of poor appetite and anemia? If it’s Sparky who is having problems, you didn’t mention any symptoms of his current tummy troubles, other than lack of appetite? Is there vomiting or diarrhea? Has he had more bloodwork done recently? Has his diet changed? You also mentioned baby food in a prior post. My pup has only had an upset tummy a few times in his short life, but I’ve given him Gerber Turkey baby food those times. (My vet has never actually suggested it for Jax, but she’s recommended it for some of my fosters with stomach issues.) Anyway, Jax loves it, and it has the added advantage of being semi solid, so I figure it’s also helping with hydration if he’s vomited. |
