Merrick Lil Plates? Hi all, we have a 6 month old yorkie, good health etc, but a very picky eater. We didn't want to keep him on kibble, so have been trying various home made dishes with meat and veggies, etc. He'll often gobble it up the first time and then not want it again. We recently tried Royal Canin canned food, which he seemed to like, but quite honestly it looks disgusting (with what looked like snot on top when we opened it.....sorry!). So then on the advice of one of the shops, we tried Merrick Lil Plates, which I guess is essentially real human grade food. The employee told us the rep had them all try it...lol. He seems to have liked it the first time we gae it to him today. Anyone else using this? Its a bit on the expensive side though, works out to close to $2 (Canadian) per serving for him.. Thx! |
If you are going to home cook you must have a recipe from a vet nutritionist especially with a growing puppy. There are supplements that dogs must have to balance food out. You can check out balanceit.com. Even human foods get that gel on top. I’m a huge huge fan of Royal Canin they have a great reputation and lots of vets on staff. I get having a picky eater though. My picky eater will only eat Royal Canin though lol. Just looking at them they don’t look like there are any red flags but a puppy should really be on puppy food to help with what their growing body needs. |
