Small Breed or Regular Adult Food Hey Guys, I'm new here, mostly use YT for research. I'm finally getting a yorkie puppy, and I'm trying to research a good adult type of food. The breeder uses Royal Canin Yorkie Puppy Food, and I'm going to continue using that until it's an adult. I've narrowed down the brands: Merrick, and Wellness are my top two picks, then Science Diet or Royal Canin. My questions is: does small breed formula matter? Or can I use regular formula and be ok? I've read all about how small breeds need more calories, fats, and proteins in their diet, but a lot of that is from food brand websites, so I'm concerned there's a bias to sell specialty food, instead of truthfully convey information. Any info, or opinions, would be helpful. Thanks! |
The biggest difference is size of the pieces. |
I agree sizes of the pieces is the main difference . I have used both , in the same formula, without issue. I don’t think Emma minds either way but bc I am a bit of a neato and Emma plays with her food , the larger pieces aren’t spread so far way from her bowl. Lol I think you’ll be fine in your food choices . Good luck and congrats on your new edition |
