Thank you, good to know. But I did have quality control issues some time ago with Wellness. But they probably are ok now.

My dog got sick and the color of the kibble looked different. I think the spray they put on at the end to give it smell and taste was variable. It may also have had different ingredients in the spray, who knows?? I stopped using it and went over to the Hills.

Yes, it applies to their wet foods as well.

Sounds good. Although I keep seeing in royal canin ingredients a common theme of "by-products, meal, etc"....

What you might think it bad for humans is not the same for dogs they need different things. Royal Canin puts A LOT of research in there food so I personally trust them immensely.

Since there wasn't a recall of anything I'm thinking it might have been an isolated event like something that just snuck through the cracks.

Yes, agreed. However on that very same note, I would prefer to know what is put onto the foods, where it comes from, etc.

Not sure if you knew about this but a while back a brand got caught selling dog food with a chemical agent found in pet euthanasia drugs.

Granted it was found in very small amounts in said dog food.
Which is illegal to put in pet food in any quantity of it.

But my question is raised as to how such dog food came in contact with a drug used to put other dogs (among other animals) to their eternal rest. Perhaps that food contains animals that aren't slaughtered/butchered? Perhaps it comes from poor ol' yeller whom was too old and in too much pain and had to be put down?

Furthermore, wasn't said company found out to contain such chemicals from the 1990s? Now I am not saying this applies to any of the foods you have mentioned but this is why I am highly cautious with foods.

That is why it’s important for it to be a trustworthy company. It was also more then one company but the biggest one was Evangers and they have had an FDA warning on them for years.

Well you cook look at balanceit.com and you could home cook. That site has free recipes by vet nutritionist and you can also buy the supplement there.

But there's very little room for error yes? I guess if I got it right, I could make her a thinly minced food. Wouldn't have to chew it much, or even baby food style but without the garlic. lol.

My old vet had said making home cooked meals is a lot harder because you need to be able to balance it properly. Very little room for error in terms of precision. I need to get her to the vet to check what her target weight should be.

They have the recipes right there by vet nutritionists and they sell the supplement and will tell you how much to use. It’s not really hard.

True I am only scared by the amount of different supplements, and I guess I am scared of screwing it up and it being directly my fault should she ever get sick.

I don't ever want to hurt her. Intentionally or unintentionally.

It’s all in one powder you just add to the food and mix in.

I don’t know if it’s cheaper but you have control of where you buy the foods you are using to put on it and you know what you are putting in it and no preservatives are in it.

My yorkies love the CET vanilla mint toothpaste. When I say Brush teeth they come running g? It must taste really good. I get it at my vet or order it on line

Plaque Off
 
I'm trying to determine if Plaque Off and Oravet Chews are safe for my 4 lb yorkie. If anyone has had experience with these products I would appreciate your opinions and experience..
