Tiny, dark, hard rounded growth on back A few weeks ago I found this tiny hard rounded growth on Audrey’s back. A week later, I asked the tech to have the surgeon look at it before doing the dental. I got a call on arriving home from the surgeon who said it should be removed along with the dental. Now I am waiting for the biopsy. I know only the results will tell, but I had really believed it was nothing. Now I pray that’s true. Did anyone ever have such a growth? Thanks, Gail |

My little Katy developed quite a few different bumps/growths as a senior--nothing the vet thought should be removed. I don't know if the recommendations would have been different if she had been younger or prepped for surgery. (Katy's teeth were in pretty good shape. Beyond her first year, vets never recommended a dental.) Will be interested to learn the outcome of Audrey's biopsy. ---- KatysMom |
I am so anxious to get the results. I’ve been reading and reading about tumors/masses. Sounds like about 50/50 chance.....not sure. Audrey is only two. She is a little doll. She does have bad teeth and I brush them every other day. Guess i’ll Have to do better. Thanks for your response. These days will be long. Gew |

My Marcel has sebaceous/follicular cysts throughout his life - we have them removed once too large. They can come and go on some dogs. On Marcel - they usually just stay and have to be removed. Always benign. Keep us posted - I'm sure it's nothing ! |
Sure hope that is what is was. The more I read the more worried I get. Not sure how long the biopsy will take. Will let you know as soon as I find out. Thanks for the hope. Gew |
Yeah! Just got a call from the surgeon. It is a benign follicular cyst with 1 mm clear margins. Think that’s as good as can be. Thanks for your support. Gew |

Thanks! Gew |
Great news, you must be so relieved. |
Thanks. Yes, so relieved. This has been a year of years. Four dogs, four major surgeries and a liver toxicity. So grateful. Gew |
