Dental costs in central Illinois. We've scheduled Bella for her second dental cleaning in two weeks. (Her last dental was two years ago.) She has grade 2 periodontal disease (on a scale of 1 to 4), which sucks, because she got a clean bill of health a year ago. We've been quoted a cost of $500 to $700, depending on whether there are extractions and extra x-rays. The price includes everything--pre-op blood work, IV catheterization, anesthesia, x-rays, cleaning, and extractions (if needed). They do a really good job and always have a U of Illinois vet student trainee on hand to monitor vitals. I believe that the cost is roughly the same as it was when Bella had her last dental two years ago (with four extractions :(). Is this typical of what people are paying in other parts of the country for similar services? I'm not begrudging the cost, because it's quality health care, but I was just curious. I'll post a separate thread on the day of her dental... |
I would say that cost is comparable to what we paid in Maryland (right outside of DC) and EVERYTHING here I consider expensive. I did learn that on this forum (LadyJane) to make sure that the vet is accredited by the AAHA. Quality over Quantity is most of our thoughts on this forum and helps. Yep. Seems about right I believe it was around $700 for Callie’s in October and if you add in blood work it was around $800. Here in Md everything is expensive and I know my vet charges a little more then some but I have been there to watch the dentals and surgeries and know they do the right stuff so I feel good about them. |
Blood work, xray, cleaning, no extractions $235.00 |
That's a decent price, yup! |
Virginia- $900 dental on Monday. In my opinion #1 reason to have wellness insurance policy when you love a yorkie;) Oh and best time to get a new policy is after a dental. |
