Bully sticks Gidget loves to chew on bully sticks but so many I get are way too big and she just leaves them alone. Any of your babies also love to chew on bully sticks, etc and what do you get for them and where. |
My kid is 12 pounds, I get the 12 inch ones for him, at his size the 12 inch is still a challenge to him lol. Stay away from the braided type, when it gets smaller the braid comes apart making it thinner and easy to be swallowed. I buy Red Barn, I get them in a animal feed store not the chain Pet Supply's, etc. type stores. I buy the long rounded single type. They also sell them in 6 inch size for the smaller pups. Stay away from Antlers they are way to hard and IMO will cause teeth to break or crack on toy breed dogs. |
1 Attachment(s) I buy the 12 inch length and cut it in half. Lots of waste because I discard it as soon as I think it's short enough to get accidentally lodged in his throat. 12 in. intact is a bit much for him to handle, but would be far less waste. |
Callie used to love them until she broke her tooth on one. The vet dentist said they are to hard for teeth. |
Emma likes them. The store I get them from have smaller ones that Emma likes better. |

My Bailey loves pizzle sticks! He would 'to town' on them. They were a problem when they got smaller as well - choking hazard:( I found that some of them smelled SO bad. THEN, I found out what a pizzle stick was. Not to scare you away from them or gross you out, BUTdo you know what they are? |
Oh, I should mention that I don't buy them anymore for him as I just couldn't when I found out what they were:( |

Hi lilgidget, Our Cody is just under 4 pounds (maybe 3.8?) and has tummy issues. So, I searched forever until I found bully sticks made out of Bison (which is known as a very lean protein). Luckily, I found The Boulder Dog Food Company. They are wonderful, and the owner is doll. I make sure to limit Cody's time , only 10 minutes after meals, , and I must say, both he, and our Pommie, love these bullies. Their website is: Made in the USA: All Natural & Organic Dog & Cat Treats | Grain-Free Pet Treats | Boulder Dog Food Company Cheers:aimeeyork... Quote:

I knew what they were made from and I was grossed out lol, but we are so limited on chews for our babies I tried one, when I saw how much he enjoyed it that's what he gets now. I find no smell to the ones I get. |
