If your older yorkie has same issues, what your vet recommended?
 

My Jessica will be 14 in February.

Recently, occasionally she has some bad symptoms.
Yellow foam vomiting, diarrhea, once was a bloody one.
Also, she has too much gases....Smelly-))))

Urine test was perfect, blood work was OK too.
Today we did ultrasound.

I went to a holistic vet, so for now she recommends only certain diet - warm, no raw due old age, small portions and a few times per days.

According to her holistic vet, she is not just in good, she is in perfect shape for her age.

But when I was reading the result, I am not a vet, but to me not as perfect.

Conclusions

1. Mild/moderate generalized gastrointestinal mural thickening could represent inflammatory/infectious gastroenteritis or inflammatory bowel disease.
2. Suspect mild chronic pancreatitis or potentially pancreatic hyperplasia.
3. Mild bilateral chronic nephropathy with right renal cortical cyst.
Comments/Recommendations

Complete GI panel as well as tissue sampling of the gastrointestinal tract be considered as clinically warranted to more definitively characterize the gastrointestinal changes.

Also, I was thinking my Jessica is having cataracts, but the vet said Jessica has nuclear sclerosis in the eyes and should be given grapeseed extract , 10 to 15mg per day. You can also use Macular Support 1 capsule twice weekly.

Please share your experience about treatment/diet/etc. if you have similar heath issues with you loved one.

Did she do any blood work?

of course, she did. end of September. But it was immediately / same day after she had a bloody diarrhea (after eating jerky, btw), so result showed dehydration. It was at different clinic. Otherwise, after other holistic vet went through it, she said her blood work is good. According to her, dehydration shown because of having diarrhea.

OK I am totally confused. She is sick now or was sick in September? If sick now, you really might think about repeating that blood work. I always have my vet do that....I cannot tell you how many things we have picked up early because we did that.

She had bloody diarrhea end of September, this is why we had an emergency visit, and the vet took a blood test. It was just one episode, but the vet recommended to do a urine test. Unfortunately, then I had a tragic story with my other dog, and my own emergency, so it took a month to continue her diagnosis. She was ok during that month. Starting October 12 when my other dog died because of vet malpractice (my lawyer is working on it now), I completely stopped giving any jerky (made in USA - for those naive who believe there is difference), and she is feeling much better since. She lost weight (she was overweight), her excessive drinking is no longer exist, she doesn't pee that much as she used to, and her belly bloating almost gone, and no more bloody diarrhea. However, she still has had a few episodes when she had diarrhea, and yellow vomiting. This is why I wanted to do an additional tests. Just yesterday we did ultrasound. For today, the vet wants me to keep her on special diet and keep touch with her. For now she doesn't want to do anything else. Her pancreatitis is quite now....

but I still would like to know what traditional vets recommend in similar situations...

I know you were referring to me about the jerky and there is a difference then US and China and sometimes those will say USA in one place but not the other and be China. But I also said you could make some at home that is perfectly safe.

I have never mentioned homemade. All I did mention are jerky treats from the stores. The link was provided. Statistics don't lie. My personal experience is enough for me.

Depends if your statics come from a reputable source. They ones I have seen have only been for the Chinese chicken jerky. I’m not going to argue with you about.
