It doesn't seem there is because every food you have tried they get diahrrea. Why are you so against staying on the ID if it seems to be the only thing that works?

Royal Canin has a low fat RX food that I have never had any issues with. The specialist I use recommends it.

Purina might have a low fat RX food. I know they have EN but not sure how low fat it is.

They are eating only I'd wet food. I went to petsmart. Read the ingredients on the rx royal canin. Didn't like the first 4. By products . Hills science diet isn't better. Wellness core has 36 percent protein. That's alot. Wellness has a simple ingredient and so does natural balance. What works for you? What to feed these two. Wellness is a good food.

You can not judge prescription food by ingredients. There is science that goes into that food to make sure it works for the issues its made for. Ingredients that may be good for us might not be great for them. Prescription food is amazing in how many dogs lives its helps and even saves.

I believe they are equal. I would honestly use either. I just happen to be using Hills ID Low Fat for one of my fosters at present; but wouldn't hesitate to use RC

Let me add this: the man who is a human dentist and leads people to believe he is a nutrition expert and the "holistic" companies started all this hoopla about ingredients. I am not suggesting that ingredients are not important when I say hoopla....what bothers me is that Hill's spends a lot of money doing feeding trials on their foods and they put money into quality control. You don't see recalls like you do with the smaller companies who tout great ingredients. They don't have the quality control that Hill's does....AND I don't buy into the whole ingredients thing anyway. They also spend more money advertising and bashing the big companies than putting money into quality control. I have seen dogs live very long lives on foods that this human dentist self proclaimed expert says is bad food. And, the fact that they bash RX foods from Purina, Hill's and Royal Canin makes my blood boil. Those foods are tested and tested...and they save lives. I have seen the good they do with many pups over the years.

They are probably about the same. I have been told that Royal Canin is more paletable and that lots of vets are switching to them but that dosent mean they are better.

Mine are always on both canned and dry i/d. I will never give anything else except one raw chicken leg bone to each dog [cats get on section of chicken wing] once or twice a week depending on how the teeth look. There is NOTHING wrong with giving raw food to dogs/cats. Pet food has only been around since the 30's. You can go strictly raw but it does get a bit expensive.

For the dogs I have taken some of the meat off to use in a cookie mix for the furkids I give the same cookie to both the dogs and cats. They all love it.

Be aware that some of the "quality foods" are able to claim a higher level of protein because they add chicken feathers. I found some in some canned food and took the entire case to my vet. He put all of the dogs on I/d and that is the only food any of my animals ever get one cat has to have a bit of water mixed in with the canned food to make it a bit more tasty. He is a my 2nd cat likes a piece of pasta when I have some. He gets his completely plain. Once I forgot to keep any for him and he pulled one out of the pan, then refused to eat it until I washed all the nasty off. Once I did that, he ate it right away.

For you skeptics, I do have pictures of him eating his share of the pasta. Vet said one or two pieces will not hurt him. Just cook it completely done and give him his share first.

I'm not a huge fan of raw food especially after my vet assistant classes. After they eat the raw and then go to drink water it contaminates the water. It is also not recommended that dogs who are going to be around older people, elderly people and people with compromised immune systems eat raw. Therapy dogs are not allowed to be on raw diets. There are just a lot of issues with it in my opinion and having looked at the medical side. Generally dogs are on ID because of tummy issues so I would not suggest raw for dogs with stomach issues.

It was my vet that gave me the raw diet. 3 of my animals are on raw and are also therapy animals. My animals Never get food that is not human quality. This is where most problems come from. Rule to live by is IF it is not good enough for me, it is not good enough for my furbabies. Most people who have problems with the raw diet think their animals are trash cans.
Also all you have to do is change the water bowl. Not brain surgeon skills. When have seen or heard of wild dogs or cats making a kill and then stopping to cook their food. These animals are some of the healthiest on the planet. No I am not talking about the wolves or big cats. I'm talking about regular dogs and cats surviving on the streets. Every city has many of them. They always eat raw. Dog/cat food is just a money grabber. BTW, my Yorkie died because of vet recommended food she told me Prince Charming had to have. It killed him in a matter of days. All that was wrong with him was ibd. She did lots of tests, xrays, ekg, and a $5,000 bill of many tests I had never heard of.
I am a Certified Medical Assistant. Have worked 30+ years in the medical field. I stand by the raw diet. I've also researched it and I love feeding it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it but people do have to use common sense.

The majority of vets are against raw food and I stand firm with and am a certified vet assistant. I think it's extremely offensive that you say most people against raw treat their dogs as trash cans because that is e trembly false! My older girl has IBD which is caused by food allergies and I tried every food with her even freeze dried raw. The prescription Royal Canin hypoallergenic food saved her life and fix the issues my dogs also get some fruits and veggies off and on. Pet dogs are extremely far from wild wolves and most stray dogs eat trash and left over food humans throw away. There have been several people who have said the therapy dog organization that is used does not allow raw fed dogs because what they shed and continue to hold onto like there mouths can be very dangerous for children, elderly and people with low immune systems. You obviously can't wash a dogs mouth every time they eat so they can very well walk around contaminating things. My personal favorite way to feed dogs is by homecooking with a supplement and I had tried that but my older girl never took to it and I had issues with finding a protein that did not make her sick. You say you won't feed your dogs anything that wasn't good for you so do you eat raw meat?

Don't really care what you think. I stand with the raw diet. I do clean my animals before we go out and that DOES include their mouths. I don't know if you even have yorkies or are just here to force your opinion on others. Yes I do eat some items raw and love it. It's called sushi. Just because a vet does not like something does not mean it is wrong or dangerous.

That's a bit rude. Do you think I just put fake pictures up lol. I have three and I have put a lot of research in. You wouldn't eat raw chicken though just think about it. They also shed it in their feces. It's the whole vet association that's against it and think it's a bad idea and I personally agree with them. I don't force opinions on others I give my opinion but just because I disagree with you and want others who read these post to look at other opinions dosent mean I forcing it. The issue is if you never open up your mind to look at all the information you never learn. Not that I have to defend myself to you but there is a member who lives near me from this forum who has actually met me and my dogs. There are also several people on this forum who are my friends on fb and see me post pictures or videos daily of my dogs. You need to settle down a bit and not get so angry and acuse people of things when you get mad because they have a different opinion then you. It's possible to share an opinion with out attacking.
