loose tooth Hi everyone - I write to you as the chief assistant to his highness, CoCo, who is about to celebrate his 10th year of reign. He's lost his front teeth over the last 2 years or so and due to a jumping accident, his incisor (i think that's what it's called - the long one on the front/side) is loose. Very loose. When I touch it it wiggles freely and he does not seem to be in pain. I'm wondering if I can just pull it at home. safely. I cannot take him to the vet other than the annual shots. Last time he was at the vet (toenail related), he started to foam around the mouth and started to seize, so giving him any kind of anaesthesia or putting him under is out of question. I would appreciate your thoughts on this - other than that I should really take him to the vet. Thanks all and have a great day. |
I would say if it's loose then the root is dead and it will fall out on its own. I don't see the harm in helping it along if you have to. |

Just because he did that at the vet doesn't mean he would have a bad reaction to anesthesia because its very safe. You would get blood work done and let the vet assess him to see if its safe. More then likely there is an infection or gum disease that has made the tooth loose and he needs to have it removed by a vet and possibly put on antibiotics. |

Thanks everyone. I did consult a vet and he said his majesty will likely have the same reaction again... he compared to the human white-coat syndrome. But all is well. His highness pulled his own tooth out by pushing it with his tongue. It fell out and no blood. He does not appear to be in pain - actually he seems very happy now that the bad tooth is gone! |

Hi everyone! I've been searching for a good cookbook of dog food recipes at iBooks and Amazon. There are A LOT of such books out there, but I don't know which ones are good. Can you recommend any of these books? Thank you so much! |

And to me, that is not safe or good care for a senior kiddo. They need more care than that, whether or not they have fear or anxiety about going. |
