about licking on her feets We been trying to get fancy to stop licking on her feet. The vet has told us that she has dry sink. But she been getting them a little red this past few days. So I thought I would ask u guys to see if u guys have any ideal on what we can do to get her to stop. Thanks for taking the time to read and give me any help that u can. |
One of the reasons dogs do that is allergies but the only way to get her to stop it my mecicating it. I would talk to your vet about apaquel. |
yeah that what they said it was. we clean her feet when she been outside. they did say try that but they never said anything about give her medicals for her feet. but we do have medical for the dry sink. just would like someone else to get her to stop licking on the feet. |
The issue is in order to get her to stop you have to get the itching to stop which means you have find the problem which is probably allergies and treat it. It miserable to have itchy paws and it can easily turn into an infection. |
the vet did say she does have allergies. and she does have dry sink too. but we do have medical that we put in her food for the dry sink so that could be doing the linking too. if this weather would say cold or hot. one day it will be hot and other would be cold. so that could be part of it. I just wish that we could get her to stop linking on her feet. but today she hasn't done any of it so far. |
What food are you feeding her? |
Rachel Ray dish. she been on that for a very long time and she never had any problems. but she did get some shots last month but she never had any problems with them before either. At time I think it has something to do with the weather. |
You have to treat the cause, not the feet. Read about how to treat allergies in dogs here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...tart-here.html What are you saying "dry sink"...? Is auto correct making a mistake...? |
the dr said she has dry skin. and we have medical for that. no I have tried that I just might take a look at the site and see. |

Nizerol Our vet suggested we use Nizoral (found in drug stores). We rub a quarter size amount on her feet and massage through. It has to stay on for approximately 5 minutes, so we just hold and cuddle her then rinse thoroughly. It WORKED! Hope this helps you too. |
